Decision on Taking Unrealised Gain
Hi,
I purchased a European Index Tracker Fund wrapped in an ISA which I planned to hold until retirement (I'm 30 years old now). The fund has now risen over a few years and currently stands with unrealised gains of around 50%.
I'm not sure if I should sell the holding and take the gain and re invest at some point in the future and basically consolidate my holding or should i just hold this until retirement as previously planned?
Apologies for the basic question, but im really not sure if consolidating would benefit me long term or does it not matter at all?

Sudden mental block or fear - please help
Been spread betting for a little over 2 years now, part time. First few months went really well, and with very little if no knowledge of charts or indicators (I now put this down to beginners luck), then lost a fair bit and have now broke even. Everything going well and looking good, recent house move and a new office, exactly as I want it and a new PC with 2 monitors (present from the mrs)
Now, no matter how long I sit there, I just cant seem to trade, its like some kind of mental block? Is this common?
And the odd few times I do place a trade, I panic and change my time frame from 10 minute chart down to 5 mins, or even 3 mins to get an earlier heads up of any change in direction.. Where, and why has this new fear come from?

Hi,i know everyones situation is different but im just after a bit of general advice
up untill now i have spreadbetted alongside my self employed day job so no need to tell my accountant.
In november i opened a usd account to trade options with options express,and am subscibed to ITMS options trade reccomendations at $99 / month
My accounts for my self employment are due for the year. do i need to make a spreadsheet with all my indiviual trades to give my accountant or just declare the money in my account as at 05-04-16 which was less than i started with :rolleyes: and then im guessing i could also offset the service costs.
