please need some help!

hello all t2w friends,
i been trading for the last year , but can't find a method with a clear edge ( or put as i am an unprofitable trader yet ) ..
tried everything under the sun, looks like i am caught in the information overload ! but i can say almost all methods publicly available cant provide an edge ( at least my view ):(..
can you please give me a hint in the proper direction to finding a trading method with an edge .. ? i am not desparate in any sense , and willing to take another few years in my quest to trading profitably! :)

p.s :
i talked to another professional trader and he said to focus on order flow, market profile , depth of market and other similar stuff ... but i dont know what are they and if they are something i can use in forex..happy new year!

Crude oil contract increase not reflecting in eft (HOU)

Hey guys I had bought shares in & eft call HOU back in September when it was around $5 per share. It then plunged to $3 where a reverse split happen & half of my shares were sold @ that price. Since HOU is tied to oil I notice on every new oil contract the price always increase $1 but that increase does not reflect in HOU. There were 4 oil contract this year which added around $4 gain to crude oil & for every $1 increase there should be $.40 gain for HOU so technically HOU price should be $6.50 instead it's $4.94 which is really reflecting a oil price of $32.50 & not $36.50. If the price of oil does not rebound in the next few years that means oil can be @ $44.50 just on contract increase & HOU can still be @ $4.94. Or worse case scenario oil dips to $30 & HOU does a second reverse split. If I knew this information before hand I would of never buy this eft.

Also the price of gas is not reflecting the price of oil that means the refinery are bailing out the producers to keep them pumping plus the govt is increasing the price for other services to replace revenue being lost from low oil prices.

Hello everyone!

I have been trading (on demo though) quite often relying on technical analysis, and just recently discovered what News Trading is.. Maybe you could share some tips on how to look for the news? for the beginning, I started following people and news on social media and read comments by others about nonfarm events :o Maybe someone else does similarly?

Need help finding a broker with NO overnight trading

Hello

I have a strategy that uses Intermarket analysis to predict trading signals using a software called Neuroshell.

I have a problem with it :
the inputs are 3 symbols, namely : CAC40 (FRA40), BIX (SP Banking index) and XOI (Nyse Arca Oil Index)

i use them to predict the FTSE (UK100)

the two US symbols close around 10PM in my region (France) but the FTSE opens at 8AM. So i cannot start trading at the close of the FTSE (4:30PM): i have to wait for the US symbols to close (around 6 hours after the close)

My trading system is based on the fact that the open of the day is the SAME as the close of the day before, (so i can start trading at the opening).

But in real life it isn't. Overnight data is some mix of other indexes and the open isn't the same as the previous close.

My question is : is there a broker that does not provide overnight trading, thus providing the same value for the open and the previous close?

Best Session to Trade the 4H and 8H?

Hi,

It seems that the best times to trade the daily and above are during the quiet times, and the best times for the 4 hour and under are the volatile times; but if you have an INFORMED opinion as to when, or what sessions, or whether volatile times or quiet times, are best to trade the 4H and 12H time frames, I'd truly appreciate it.

Hey guys,

I'm new here and decided to share my experience with some UK brokerages for US market trading as a newbie, if you have some good/bad ones feel free to share too! And let us know what broker you currently use.

So i first tried to open with US companies (cheaper..) like TDAmeritrade, Scottrade, eTrade.. but they dont accept non US residents.

So after looking around i opened with HL (Hargreaves Lansdown), my advice stay far away from these guys!

Good:
- Easy and fast to open an account
- Dont charge for debit card deposits
- Deposits are instantly available for trading
- No platform inactivity fees.
- Free 5 trades to begin with (refunded 1 month later)

Bad:
- Slow and old platform (bad looking too) and app
- Expensive! 12£ per transaction
- Since i trade US there is also 1.5% exchange rate fee aswell as the exchange rate being bad
- Cant hold $ so you have to convert back and forward per sale and pay more commissions with with terrible rates (many people ignore this and its a mistake)
- Transfer holdings out to another broker: 25£ per holding
- To transfer out you need to send a hand written letter to them
- Close account: 30£ (if you take your last 30£ out they will assume its closing and charge this)
- Customer support is slow!

I've heard Interactive Brokers is quite good too and was going to switch to them but i found these other guys that i ended up choosing GetStocks

Good:
- Good looking website/app
- Stocks got related tweets/news
- 7.5$ per transaction
- No inactivity fees or transfer out fees

- If you want to transfer $ to your account you can make wire transfer and use services like TransferWise or Azimo to get the best exchange rates
- If you do well people can subscribe to you by paying a fee that you pick and follow your trades (Piggyback)
- Lots of stocks availabe including new ones (Square and Match were there on IPO day)
- You can buy Transaction bundles like 75$ for 14 trades (better rates if you spend more..)

Bad:
- Card deposits are expensive 2.4% for credit and if you deposit in a different currency also 2.4% + an exchange rate that is not the best
- You can only open with one currency, at account open you pick, no multi currency wallet.

The past history is good, Shell always paid dividen each year. My question therefore : is it a safe investment knowing that oil is quite low currently and may not rise for few years ? (I plan not to use of the money I invest today before 7-10 years)

It’s interesting to see attitudes on this forum. In the short time I’ve been here I’ve been attacked by several members and accused of being a liar because I claim to be successful at trading

Of course I expected that because most people have been programmed to be supportive of failure because there is safety in numbers. The small minded don’t like to see success and prefer to wallow in hardship with people like themselves. I really don’t mind because I see a sun soaked beach above my laptop, have enough money in the bank never to work again and am very happy with my life. I have three private trading accounts and a public fund that gives my clients at least 20% on their money every month after my fees. Those clients know the truth.

If you don’t think it’s possible to be successful at trading and make unlimited money then why do you trade and why are you here? I strongly suggest you examine your attitudes if you want to be successful. Clearly, most people here don’t believe they can be millionaires from trading and don’t believe anyone who says that they are…

Where does this negative belief system come from? Obviously it is reinforced by not making huge profits from trading and so it is a self-proving belief. To a greater or lesser degree we all have a lack of self worth as a result of our childhood and this means that, sub consciously, we don’t believe we deserve to be successful and make money without suffering and hard work. The end result is that an element of self-destructive urges enters our trading and we blow it…

How many people here honestly believe they can wake up Monday morning having earned enough for the week while they were sleeping? If not, why not?

99.9% of traders pursue the Holy Grail of trading systems and spend thousands over years in fruitless pursuit of this misguided goal. I repeatedly tell people that you could give a 100% proven profitable trading system to ten people and at least nine would still lose all their money. Why? Because it’s not the system, it’s the trader.

So what is the solution? Stop chasing a system and spend the same time, energy and money on sorting out your own subconscious belief systems. Yes, go get therapy! I can promise you that anyone who has got rid of all their demons will find it easy to be successful and wealthy without much work at all.

And yes, it took me many years to achieve this but it is possible and please don’t ask for proof (I have submitted my December statement elsewhere in this forum). I can genuinely live anywhere I want and make as much money as I want – trading is scalable. When you don’t have money you dream of all the things you could do if you had a million but (assuming you have some maturity and experience in life already) once you get unlimited money it becomes very different. You need to learn that ‘things’ don’t bring you happiness.

I actually love fast cars but I current drive an old, beat up rented Skoda Fabia estate for €320 a month. It’s convenient, worry free, easy to park and still cruises down the motorway at a just-over-the-speed-limit 130kph. I have very few possessions and when I move I take one suitcase. Actually in trading, that’s not quite true because it is a zero sum game. I can promise you that the top 0.1% who do make millions a year do not want you to know their secrets because their money comes from the mass of deluded losing traders. I can promise you that all commonly held beliefs about trading are wrong but I just can’t go into details for various reasons. I know this will attract disbelief and ridicule but that just proves what I was saying about common attitudes. I will say that trying to predict the direction is a mugs game. All my trades are in a random direction with no stop loss.

What I say is not up for debate because I personally see and live the truth of it every day so I will not reply to any comments. Take the advice to heart or ignore it – it makes no difference to me and I am not concerned what your programming makes you think about me. It’s interesting to see attitudes on this forum. In the short time I’ve been here I’ve been attacked by several members and accused of being a liar because I claim to be successful at trading

Of course I expected that because most people have been programmed to be supportive of failure because there is safety in numbers. The small minded don’t like to see success and prefer to wallow in hardship with people like themselves. I really don’t mind because I see a sun soaked beach above my laptop, have enough money in the bank never to work again and am very happy with my life. I have three private trading accounts and a public fund that gives my clients at least 20% on their money every month after my fees. Those clients know the truth.

If you don’t think it’s possible to be successful at trading and make unlimited money then why do you trade and why are you here? I strongly suggest you examine your attitudes if you want to be successful. Clearly, most people here don’t believe they can be millionaires from trading and don’t believe anyone who says that they are…

Where does this negative belief system come from? Obviously it is reinforced by not making huge profits from trading and so it is a self-proving belief. To a greater or lesser degree we all have a lack of self worth as a result of our childhood and this means that, sub consciously, we don’t believe we deserve to be successful and make money without suffering and hard work. The end result is that an element of self-destructive urges enters our trading and we blow it…

How many people here honestly believe they can wake up Monday morning having earned enough for the week while they were sleeping? If not, why not?

99.9% of traders pursue the Holy Grail of trading systems and spend thousands over years in fruitless pursuit of this misguided goal. I repeatedly tell people that you could give a 100% proven profitable trading system to ten people and at least nine would still lose all their money. Why? Because it’s not the system, it’s the trader.

So what is the solution? Stop chasing a system and spend the same time, energy and money on sorting out your own subconscious belief systems. Yes, go get therapy! I can promise you that anyone who has got rid of all their demons will find it easy to be successful and wealthy without much work at all.

And yes, it took me many years to achieve this but it is possible and please don’t ask for proof (I have submitted my December statement elsewhere in this forum). I can genuinely live anywhere I want and make as much money as I want – trading is scalable. When you don’t have money you dream of all the things you could do if you had a million but (assuming you have some maturity and experience in life already) once you get unlimited money it becomes very different. You need to learn that ‘things’ don’t bring you happiness.

I actually love fast cars but I current drive an old, beat up rented Skoda Fabia estate for €320 a month. It’s convenient, worry free, easy to park and still cruises down the motorway at a just-over-the-speed-limit 130kph. I have very few possessions and when I move I take one suitcase. Recommendation for Real-time financial news on internet?

Hi, what way or website do you recommend to get real time financial news, primarily for stock trading but I think, just general financial news is important. When I say "real-time," I mean like, just run a headline, (maybe a short sentence?), "Fed Rev says looking forward to rate increase." (This is just an example.)

I found that a lot of news website (Yahoo finance, Google business etc) has long articles and more importantly, it takes too much time to write an article. By the time the article is online, it is old news. So I figure I need a way to get news in real-time and fast for my day trading for stocks and general financial news.

I would prefer free service, but, I will consider paid service as well, just whichever works better. Thanks.

I have been accused in the past of saying that all vendors are the same, so this is a chance for any vendor to show that what he is offering works, and is not just another shot at trying to turn over a few quick bucks.

I will suggest a few simple rules for those who wish to participate.

1. Post the live trade - market, entry, stop (if using one) and profit target (if using one).

2. Post a chart that shows the entry - whatever timeframe you like, and you need not show any proprietary info such as indicators, etc, etc.

3. Post a chart, as above, to show the outcome of the trade, along with screenshot of broker entry, exit, commission and profit / loss.

This is very basic stuff, and I have posted a few myself in another thread I started recently, which you can check as a reference if you like, but no need as the simple rules are really simple, and any person should have no problem with same.

I am interested in spread trading, so if any vendor does spread trading then go ahead, as I am keen to see a live trade example, any market/s, any method.

To keep the thread right, please do not post a live trade unless you are a vendor, you can of course join the discussions about the live trades and what the vendor has to offer.

Hope this Forum is doing well and just updating the alerts on USDCAD which I posted on some threads before they were mysteriously deleted - The Currency Kraken was posted again last night which included 31 Currency Pairs. These were once again analysed in Multiple Time Frames and Tabled, in Time Stamp, including the CB data. Again, virtually every time frame for USDCAD was Green and Positive, meaning Long USDCAD. Unfortunately will be posting the last FxxxXxxxxxxxxxx Currency Kraken this side of Christmas later tonight but will return to posting in the new year via the normal channels.
For further information on the Time Stamped Alerts and Videos then perhaps "Seek google or youtube and Ye Shall Find"
Again and rather unfortunately cannot post any completely Free educational youtube Videos with entries, stops, alerts nor any Technical Analysis here as they seemed to be received and condemned as advertising and so cannot help anyone in that way at T2W.

Looking for users to test a new mobile product

I am a software developer who has been working on a product targeted at the retail trading community. As aspiring traders who are active members of these forums, we all know the importance of manual back testing. However, one of the problems that I believe exists is being able to put aside the time to run back tests and analyse the results to factor into our real world trading. This may be due to a lack of available time in front of the PC with one of the few established backtesting software packages, or a mental block which stops us from allocating our time to backtesting.

Ive developed a mobile back testing solution which allows you to run back tests from within an advanced charting tool directly from your mobile device. This lets you take your back tests with you wherever you go, making it simple to run your tests during your dead time. For example, on a commute or during a coffee break.

Im currently putting the software into beta testing and am looking for some early adopters who can run the software and provide some feedback. Ive had a couple of users already providing some positive comments so I think it would be extremely beneficial to anyone looking to do some manual back testing. And its also an opportunity to feedback into the early development to add certain features you may think are useful.

A few weeks ago I mentioned the rise of Podemos and Ciudidanos as a possible thorn in the side of the two main Spanish parties.

I did, however, think that one of these parties would have enough seats to be able pact with the main ones.

Such has not been the case, however,. The result has been a hung government that cannot pact with anyone and form the 176 seats needed for a majority.

This is going to be a mess that I shall watch with great interest!

A complete rejection of the two traditional governing parties by the electorate with, as postre, the Catalan question! :)

If you take a look at the AAPL (see chart #1 below), you will see that as of now the APPL is about at the same level ($105.90) it was on August 20 of 2015 ($106.05) a day before it crashed to $92 which is 31.6% from the highest high ($134.53) seen on April 28 of 2015.

Now, if you compare August 21 (see chart #2) and December 18 (chart #3) intraday trading sessions, you will see that they are quite similar. On both of the charts the AAPL declined and on both charts we see increase in volume which could be considered as some panic.

From one side the trends on the AAPL on 8/21/2015 and on 12/18/2015 are similar (see charts #2 and #3 above), from another side, by looking at the chart #1, you will see that volume on 8/21/2015 was much higher than on 12/19/2015 (126 M shares versus 86 M shares). On 8/20/2015 we had more traders who was selling in panic. However, we always have to remember that volume is 2-side transaction and for each seller we have a buyer. High volume surge surge on 8/21/2015 also mean bullish traders attracted by low AAPL price started to buy. On the next trading session (8/24/2015) the AAPL slid strongly and we had even stronger volume surge which suggest that bigger number of bullish traders started to buy AAPL ($90-100 for AAPL stock looked very attractive) from the Bearish traders. These bullish traders were stronger then the bearish traders and they pushed the Apple up.

On this Friday (12/18/2015) we had the AAPL at the same level it was on 8/21/2015, yet on much lower volume.

Price declines because there is more bearish traders willing to sell at lower price. Smaller volume means smaller number of bullish traders are jumping to buy from the Bears. The AAPL does not look any more as attractive as it was in August of 2015. If on Monday the AAPL continues to decline, we may not see a bounce as we saw on August 24 of 2015 simply because now there is smaller number of the Bulls than it was in August.

Kaiser Permanente’s South Sacramento Medical Center has been verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level II trauma center.

The center got provisional verification by the group last year so it could begin operations, but the process requires reviewers to evaluate the program after it is up and running.

Reviewers conducted another on-site review in March to evaluate trauma center staff, equipment and other resources to make sure they meet national standards. Full verification will be in effect until 2013.

Since opening Aug. 1, the new South Sacramento trauma center has treated an average of 150 patients per month.

“We are extremely proud that the American College of Surgeons has verified that our program meets their stringent standards,” Dr. Richard Isaacs, physician-in-chief at Kaiser Permanente South.

Sacramento, said in a press release. “We have an excellent staff here and we are committed to caring for some of the area’s most critically injured patients.”

The South Sacramento hospital serves an area from Interstate 5 east to Rancho Cordova, and from Florin Road south to the San Joaquin County line.

The trauma center is a first for Kaiser Permanente nationwide.

A software that mimics real time data for stocks?

Hi, I am new to this technical analysis and stock trading. As I was watching the stock market, I realized that I need practice for day trading of stocks. From what I see, stock trading really needs experience, no matter technical analysis or fundamental analysis, long-term or short-term.

So, I am thinking, is there a software that can mimic real time data of stock market so I can practice in the evening? What I mean is, this software will have a candlestick (or whatever you choose) show up every five, fifteen or thirty minutes (or whatever you choose), along with other real data (volume, MACD, stochastics, whatever you choose). You can watch it and mimic stock trading, like during the day. The data can be most recent ( so I can pay for the real data from stock exchange? and send it to this software), or just use old data (but real data, still). Is there something like this? Thanks.

Hello folks. I desperately need your help.

I`ve been trading this demo account for almost a year now. It is doing good, and considering the amount of work ive put into it, id like to keep it.


But something i did on my machine messed up my terminal. Now everything is reset - all indicators, templates. Good news my accounts are there. I can sign in, But i dont know the password. Its all stars. The "mail" tab also cleared so no luck there. I also contacted my broker but they say because i registered that demo throught deskto terminal they have no access to password and they cant even reset it. Please help. Thanks.

Is the Holy Grail found in loss management?

Hello all,

I have been trading off and on for about 10 years. I have experimented with multiple strategies over the years. I have tried moving average crosses, Bollinger band extreme retracements (my current favorite), and using all the common indicators, MACD, Stochastics, RSI, you name it. I have never been able to come up with an entry signal that's gets me into a winning trade much more than 40-50 percent of the time. Each time I start trading, I start off with a couple losers immediately and I get frustrated. I am only paper trading right now because I don't feel like I have the psychological confidence to enter real trades right now.

I have been thinking a lot about strategies lately and searching for a high success winning entry. Since I haven't found this Holy Grail for entries, I am beginning to believe that the real edge in trading comes from cutting losses short and letting winners run. I know there are a lot of pros on this board and I feel like this is a great place to get a little advice. Any thoughts or advice from anyone on this idea? Am I looking in the right direction?

I am New to trading and tried with IG spreadbetting demo account but need help before I trade with real money.

I have been using a Spreadbetting demo account with IG and find that i cant alway go long or short on the trades that have potential due to the restrictions, ifIG is one of the best brokers to use then why am I unable to trade the stocks which are moving?

I was wondering whats the best Broker to use, as i am currently using IG and like the Proreal Time platform, spreadbetting as it is the same as CFD tradinging but no capital gains TAX.

Indices and price action

Hey guys, I'm new to the game. There is an aspect of technical analysis and indices which I am having difficulty getting my mind around.

If the price action of an index such as the DAX is driven by the movements of the basket of individual composite stocks then why does this not make it more random and harder to trade?

Coming at this from first principles I would have thought that the index would not exhibit trend lines, support & resistance etc as efficiently as individual stocks and yet people seem to trade the DAX, FTSE etc because of their technical behavior.

I am sure I am missing something. Thank you in advance.

A Makahu father with a rare form of cancer is being denied a drug that may give him more time with his four young children.

James Grieve, 44, was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour (DSRCT) last July, when the family were living in Perth.

Grieve told his oncologist the family, who were originally from Britain, were only in Perth on a work visa and he and his wife Victoria wanted to take their children home to Taranaki.

But they were told it was a very aggressive sarcoma and he had to start chemo straight away, Grieve said.

“He made it clear I was going to die. I was going through chemo because I have four kids and something was better than nothing.”

After six rounds of chemo, nothing had changed, he said, so they came home.

But before they left, Grieve’s oncologist in Australia gave him three months worth of a trial drug, Pazopanib, which may inhibit the tumour’s growth and give him more time with his four young children.

However, back home in New Zealand Pharmac won’t fund the drug, which costs $10,000 for three months supply.

In a letter to MidCentral oncologist Dr. Richard Isaacs, Pharmac said if Grieve was granted Pazopanib, people with other soft tissue sarcomas would also apply, because there was no clinical evidence to support the use of the drug specifically for DSCRT rather than other soft tissue sarcomas.

KPM akan buat keputusan sama ada persekolahan perlu diganti

GEORGE TOWN - Kementerian Pendidikan (KPM) akan memaklumkan keputusan mengenai sama ada sekolah yang ditutup akibat jerebu perlu menggantikan hari persekolahan mereka, kata Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan, P. Kamalanathan.

"Ada dua (perkara yang perlu dilihat), sama ada cuti atau sekolah diarah tutup. Kalau cuti, ia perlu diganti, kalau diarah tutup, persekolahan mungkin tidak perlu diganti.

"Bagaimanapun saya dimaklumkan menteri pendidikan akan mengeluarkan kenyataan berhubung perkara ini dalam masa terdekat," katanya kepada pemberita selepas menutup Pertandingan Robotik Kebangsaan 2015 di Universiti Sains Malaysia di sini hari ini.

Sekolah di Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor dan Sarawak ditutup sebelum ini susulan bacaan Indeks Pencemaran Udara (IPU) yang tidak sihat. - Bernama

Kereta pertama ASEAN (Proton+China) bakal dikeluarkan 20 bulan lagi

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd, yang mungkin bekerjasama dengan sebuah atau lebih pengeluar kereta China bagi projek kereta ASEAN, dijangka mengeluarkan produk pertamanya dalam tempoh 20 bulan lagi.

Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri II Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan berkata, Proton ketika ini sedang berunding dengan beberapa syarikat automobil di China termasuk pengeluar kereta Geely.

"Keadaan semakin positif. Mereka menyatakan mereka memerlukan masa 20 bulan daripada sekarang untuk membina kilang dan mengeluarkan kereta pertama," katanya pada taklimat media selepas melancarkan Kempen Produktiviti, di sini, hari ini.

Kempen itu bertujuan memupuk budaya produktiviti dalam kalangan masyarakat terutamanya golongan muda kerana ia merupakan aset penting bagi pembangunan dan kemajuan negara.

Ong berkata perkongsian ini akan membolehkan Malaysia memanfaatkan penyelidikan dan pembangunan (R&D) kukuh China, yang seterusnya menambah baik kereta Proton dan membolehkan syarikat tersebut mengeluarkan model kompetitif bagi pasaran ASEAN.

Menurutnya, sektor automotif serantau menawarkan potensi besar memandangkan penduduk yang ramai, peningkatan golongan kelas pertengahan dan kuasa membeli kukuh.

"Kita mesti bertindak pantas untuk merebut pasaran. Jika kita boleh menghasilkan kereta untuk pasaran ini, ia akan menjadi sangat bermanfaat memandangkan terdapat pelbagai perjanjian perdagangan bebas serantau," katanya.

Mengenai pelancaran Laporan Daya Saing Global 2015-2016 baru-baru ini yang menyaksikan Malaysia meningkat dua tangga ke kedudukan ke-18 daripada 140 negara, Ong berkata ini jelas membuktikan asas ekonomi kukuh Malaysia.

Beliau berkata terdapat 12 bahagian penilaian kepada indeks itu, termasuk prasarana, pasaran kewangan dan pendidikan.

"Berdasarkan fakta dan angka, asas ekonomi kita adalah kukuh, bagaimanapun, kita kurang dari segi persepsi.

"Bagi membetulkan keadaan ini, setiap orang, daripada pemimpin hinggalah kepada rakyat, perlu berganding bahu untuk membina semula keyakinan terhadap ekonomi kita," katanya.
