If anyone can help with a couple of questions, that would be great.
1) UK broker
I'd like to write covered calls on FTSE100 shares held in an ISA. Is there a UK broker than offers both and/or would allow me to use the shares as margin
2) Dividend adjustments
I'm not 100% sure how this works. The prices I can see quoted look like they don't factor in a large dividend that a share will pay in June.
Is the adjustment made when the share goes ex-div and the dividend is known?
How does it work?
Say the share price is 920 the day before the ex-div and the div is 25p
3) Margin
On IB I can't see what margins positions might incur. I wonder if the button is greyed out until I have funded my account. It isn't the easiest platform to use.
Any ideas on getting a better idea of margins and tools for evaluating basic option trades would be appreciated.
